Resources and Territory

Dawn of War 4's two main resources are Requisition and Power, and you earn them by capturing, holding and upgrading points on the map. Orks add Waaagh! and Necrons add Dominion; no income numbers are published yet.

Dawn of War 4 runs on Requisition and Power, and you earn them by capturing, holding and upgrading resource points rather than by gathering at a base. This is the series' old idea: PC Gamer's summary of the first game is "no gold, no spice, no vespene bloody gas", only nodes spread across a map to fight over. As of Oct 31, 2026 KING Art has published no income rates, capture times or Victory Point totals, and the game does not come out until Dec 3, 2026, so this page describes pre-release material. The clip is KING Art's Jul 2026 Battlefield Report.

Requisition and Power

Press Start's description of the Oct 2026 preview build is the clearest published: Requisition buys most of your force, and the second resource unlocks advanced tech, with income from Requisition points, nodes and generators. Press Start calls that second resource energy; KING Art and Deep Silver call it Power, as this viki does. Press Start's advice is to put territory first, because income funds everything.

The two matter differently by faction. Deep Silver tells anyone fighting Space Marines to deny Resource Points, especially Power, since their expensive units need a lot of it.

How territory pays

Holding ground pays twice: income, and in some modes the win itself. KING Art's three multiplayer game types treat territory differently: The clip is KING Art's Sep 2026 Battlefield Report.

Game type What decides it
Annihilation Destroy all enemy headquarters; points only feed your economy
Domination Capture and hold more Strategic Positions than your opponents to gain Victory Points
Maelstrom Secure objectives that appear across the map to gain Victory Points

TechRadar's October headline says armies covering the map and capturing many resource points recalled the first game; only the headline could be fetched. The Multiplayer page has more on the modes.

Territory also has to be defended, and every faction does that differently: see Base Building. Space Marines lean on fortifications, Orks on armed buildings near the point, and the Adeptus Mechanicus on extending their network to key resource points.

Faction economies

Orks: Waaagh! A meter that fills from the number of Orks on the field and the enemies killed. You trigger it for a berserker state. Press Start adds that combat, banners and Commander abilities build it, and at maximum basic Boyz become free. Thresholds are not published. The clip is KING Art's Sep 2026 Battlefield Report.

Necrons: Dominion. The bigger your Power Matrix, the more Dominion you gain, so spreading buildings is the income plan. Big Boss Battle, describing a match settings menu, treats Power Matrix as the resource; KING Art's posts name Dominion. KING Art's Battlefield Reports say Necrons do not spend Requisition or Power, though capturing those points cuts their build times and costs. Big Boss Battle also reports that Necron reanimation has no standard resource cost, so starving them of Requisition does not stop the army.

Adeptus Mechanicus: no extra resource named. The Noosphere Network is not called a resource, but KING Art says it gives economic and combat boons to what it links, and units in range cost less to produce.

Space Marines: no extra resource named. KING Art says their flavor is equipment and upgrade paths on a small, costly army.

Where resources go in a fight

Fighting spends the economy directly. Units on auto-reinforce are much harder to kill, but many of them at once drain your resources very quickly; see Combat, Cover and Retreat. Deep Silver says Stratagems are free for Orks, which suggests they cost the other factions something, though no cost is published.

Match settings can change this too. Big Boss Battle reports that the Sep 9, 2026 Battlefield Report showed settings for resource changes, including Waaagh! and the Power Matrix, which matter most in Skirmish. Crusade Mode has its own campaign-level Requisition, spent between battles, which is separate from a match's income in KING Art's description.

Not known as of Oct 31, 2026

  • Income per point, point upgrade costs and capture times
  • Unit costs and any population cap
  • Victory Point totals for Domination and Maelstrom
  • Waaagh! thresholds and the number of Noosphere levels
  • Whether Space Marines or Adeptus Mechanicus have a third resource

Frequently asked questions

What are the resources in Dawn of War 4? Requisition and Power, with Waaagh! added for Orks. Necrons spend Dominion instead, though capturing Requisition and Power points cuts their build times and costs. No extra resource is published for Space Marines or the Adeptus Mechanicus as of Oct 31, 2026.

How do you get Requisition and Power in Dawn of War 4? You capture, hold and upgrade resource points on the map. Press Start's Oct 2026 preview also lists generators as part of the economy.

Does Dawn of War 4 have control points and Victory Points? Yes. Its Domination mode scores Victory Points for holding more Strategic Positions, and Maelstrom scores them for securing objectives that appear across the map.

Is it Power or energy in Dawn of War 4? KING Art and Deep Silver call it Power. Some previews, such as Press Start's, write energy for the same resource.

How much income does a point give in Dawn of War 4? That is not published as of Oct 31, 2026. This page will gain numbers once the game is out on Dec 3, 2026.
