Adeptus Mechanicus

The Adeptus Mechanicus make their series debut in Dawn of War 4 as a quick, ranged, tech-heavy faction built around the Noosphere Network, which makes linked units stronger and cheaper. Their Commanders are Potentia Delta-9 and Skitarii Marshal Sek-Ix-23.

The Adeptus Mechanicus are new to the series in Dawn of War 4, per KING Art, and play as a quick, ranged, tech-heavy faction: grow the Noosphere Network, use the speed and range of cheap units, and let upgrades snowball. Their answer to enemy pressure is a screen-sized Void Shield, and their late game includes Knights. The full Adeptus Mechanicus campaign was in the Oct 2026 preview build, so press has played them; the game itself is out on Dec 3, 2026. The clip is the official Game Overview Trailer.

Noosphere Network

The network links buildings, static weapons and units, and more structures raise its level. Higher levels unlock powerful units, upgrades and research, and units in range become stronger and cheaper to produce. The AMA adds that structures link to the headquarters and give economic and combat boons. The clip is KING Art's Jul 2026 Battlefield Report, a pre-release match.

In the Oct 2026 preview build, Press Start says structures in each other's spheres raise the level, and Cogitator Relays extend links across the map. KING Art expects opponents to aim at dismantling and disconnecting it. The number of levels and their thresholds are not published as of Oct 31, 2026. Jan Theysen's stated reason for calling the faction his current favorite in July 2026 was its city-builder style of base building and strong units in all phases. See Base Building.

Void Shield and Auger Vision

The Void Shield is an enormous structure covering nearly a screen: enemies can walk in and you can walk out, but enemies cannot shoot through it. KING Art suggests it for chokepoints. KING Art's Battlefield Report says the faction excels at fortifying territory, and they can also build their own garrisonable structure, name not given.

Auger Vision is a strategic ability giving a heatmap hint of enemy activity under the fog of war, imperfect by design. Some previews spell it Augur; KING Art's spelling is used here. Named Adeptus Mechanicus Stratagems are few so far; see Stratagems.

Units

KING Art's example of the faction's play: Ruststalkers lure enemies into close combat while Skitarii Rangers fire from relative safety. IGN found Skitarii weak in melee but dangerous at range in cover, best hit from the sides or rear. The clip is IGN's Jan 2026 hands-on.

Unit What KING Art says
Skitarii Rangers Ranged firepower from a safe distance
Ruststalkers Melee units that lure enemies in
Ironstrider Ballistarius Quick and nimble vehicle
Onager Dunecrawler Heavy war machine
Skorpius Disintegrator Long-range firepower
Knight Castellan Colossal; comes through House Raven and arrives by Drop Keep

Commanders

Potentia Delta-9 is a Technoarcheologist who sends out a scouting servo-skull and can grow into either a melee or ranged fighter. KING Art calls her upgrade paths extremely flexible. She is voiced by Jess Nesling.

Skitarii Marshal Sek-Ix-23 buffs the units he is attached to and all units in range, so he belongs at the front. He is the only multi-model Commander in the game and can lead a 20-strong Skitarii unit. He is voiced by Richard Reed.

In the Adeptus Mechanicus Campaign the choice is a story one: side with Magos Dominus Nulpherus-1 as the Marshal, or follow Potentia. More on Commanders.

How to play them, and how to beat them

Deep Silver's site advises building a strong network early and extending it to key resource points, keeping your best technology on units, keeping enemy melee off your firing line, and sending your own melee at enemy ranged units. Against them, it says to destroy Cogitator Relays in key positions and not to try to outproduce them, since they have cheap and strong late units. ComicBook found them among the harder factions to learn in its pre-release build.
