Dawn of War 4's Adeptus Mechanicus campaign centers on an expedition into a Necron tomb on Kronus and a choice between siding with Magos Dominus Nulpherus-1 as Marshal Sek-Ix-23 or breaking ranks with the Technoarcheologist Potentia Delta-9. It was in the Oct 2026 preview build in full; its mission count is unpublished.
Dawn of War 4's Adeptus Mechanicus campaign asks you to side with the Magos Dominus as his subordinate Marshal Sek-Ix-23, or break ranks with the Technoarcheologist Potentia Delta-9. The Magos Dominus is Nulpherus-1, who leads an expedition into a dormant Necron tomb on Kronus in search of forbidden knowledge and, per KING Art, has a secret he wants kept. This is the first time the faction has a campaign in the series, and press played it in full in the Oct 2026 preview build; the game is out Dec 3, 2026.

The set-up
An expedition found a Necron complex under the sands of Kronus, first taken for a tomb and then for a prison. Nulpherus-1's forces press on as the Necron legions stir, and KING Art's trailer text says the faction has a decision to make at that point. What the prison holds is unpublished, as is the Magos Dominus's secret. See Story and Setting. The clip is the Oct 2026 Game Overview Trailer.
Nulpherus-1, Sek-Ix-23 or Potentia
KING Art hints at the split without spoiling it: one overseer has a secret, and you either fight for him as his Marshal or follow Potentia's different agenda. The two paths also change how you play, since they are the faction's two Commanders.

Sek-Ix-23 is the only Commander made of several models, and can lead a 20-strong Skitarii unit. KING Art has not said how far the two paths differ in missions or ending.
What the campaign teaches
This faction is new to the series, and ComicBook found it one of the harder factions to learn, though its campaign missions teach without constant punishment, per the same Oct 2026 preview build. The campaign's tools are the faction's: the Noosphere Network, which makes units stronger and cheaper as it grows, plus the Void Shield and Auger Vision, all explained on Adeptus Mechanicus. Press Start notes that Cogitator Relays extend the network across the map. KING Art also says the faction works with House Raven, whose Knights arrive in Drop Keeps, though it does not say when the campaign hands them over.
Jan Theysen named the Adeptus Mechanicus his favorite faction at the time in KING Art's Jul 2026 AMA.
How much of it has been played
KING Art counts over 30 missions across the full Ork and Adeptus Mechanicus campaigns' branches. With 18 in the Ork campaign, that leaves more than 12 for this one by subtraction, not a published number. Press Start suggests playing the Prologue, then Orks, then this campaign; in the build either could go first.
What is not known
As of Oct 31, 2026, mission names and count, length in hours, the ending of either path and how it joins the other campaigns are unpublished. Nothing on this page comes from the closed beta, which is under NDA and held only 1v1 Skirmish and Multiplayer.
