Blood Ravens Story Prologue is a paid expansion for Dawn of War 4 that tells events leading up to the main campaign, as a new Blood Ravens strike force heads to Aurelia to rebuild the Chapter. Steam's roadmap places it just before Spring 2027, with no exact date and windows marked subject to change. It is not in the Dec 3, 2026 launch game, and it is not the short Space Marine prologue that opens the base game's campaigns.

The story

The base game begins with the Blood Ravens limping to Kronus, hoping to fill their ranks from their old recruiting world. The expansion follows a second group with the same goal: a new strike force bound for Aurelia. PLAION's press release calls Aurelia their homeworld and says the battles there are triggered by ancient relics. Series players know the name: Chaos Rising returns to Sub-Sector Aurelia, and Retribution is set there ten years later. See Blood Ravens.

Not the base game's prologue

0:44 The name causes confusion because the base game has prologue missions of its own. The Oct 2026 press build held "Astra Militarum and Space Marine prologues", and Press Start describes two missions that come before the Ork and Adeptus Mechanicus campaigns. Those are part of Four Campaigns. Blood Ravens Story Prologue is separate, later and paid. Gameswelt mentions an exclusive Dark Angels prologue as a pre-order bonus, but Deep Silver lists only this Blood Ravens one, in the Commander Edition, so Deep Silver's list stands. The clip is IGN's Jan 2026 hands-on, on the base game's tutorial.
