Year One Roadmap

Dawn of War 4's Year One roadmap runs through 2027 with free updates (Crusade Mode, four map packs, the Mission Editor, Lord Ahmnok and Guzcutta for Last Stand and Crusade) and two paid expansions, Blood Ravens Story Prologue and Aftermath. Steam gives no exact dates and marks it subject to change.

Dawn of War 4's Year One roadmap, on its Steam page, lists four free updates and two paid expansions across 2027, starting with Crusade Mode and ending around Summer with Aftermath and its new faction. The image carries no exact dates and says "DLC & release windows subject to change". Nothing on it is in the launch game on Dec 3, 2026. Steam heads the plan "Year 1 Expansion". The clip is the May 2026 version of the roadmap, with the same items on the older dates.

The roadmap in order

The table follows the image's order from left to right. Its timeline starts at 2027 and names only two seasons, so anything else about timing is an estimate.

Order Update Cost Position on the image
1 Crusade Mode and Map Pack I Free First, on the 2027 line
2 Lord Ahmnok for Last Stand and Crusade, and Map Pack II Free Second
Paid Blood Ravens Story Prologue Paid Just before Spring
3 Mission Editor and Map Pack III Free Near Spring
4 Guzcutta for Last Stand and Crusade, and Map Pack IV Free Near Summer
Paid Aftermath: campaign expansion and new faction Paid At Summer

GamingBolt reported the same order in Aug 2026, calling the start "Early 2027". Play Day reports that exact dates will come closer to release.

What changed with the delay

The May 21, 2026 plan ran the free updates from Fall 2026 to Spring 2027. When the game moved to Dec 3, the roadmap moved with it, so older articles with Fall 2026 dates are out of date. The Mission Editor also moved, from before Winter in the May plan to after Map Pack II. See Release Date and Launch Time. The clip is KING Art's Aug 2026 Release Date Update.

Free updates

KING Art says all of the free content comes completely free of charge, and it reaches owners of either edition. Crusade Mode's rules are on its own page. KING Art also says more Crusades come free later, on top of the five Commanders whose Crusades arrive with the mode.

Lord Ahmnok and Guzcutta are both Commanders of the base game (Necrons and Orks). The updates add them to Last Stand and Crusade, modes that do not offer every Commander from the start; KING Art calls these "Commander scenarios". See Commanders.

Map packs

The roadmap shows four numbered map packs, one with each free update, on top of 30 multiplayer maps at launch. As of Oct 31, 2026 no source gives how many maps a pack holds or which modes they serve. See Multiplayer.

Mission Editor

The Mission Editor is a free update that, per PLAION, lets players create and share battles. It arrives near Spring 2027 on the roadmap, with Map Pack III. That single line is nearly all that has been published: no screenshot of it, no list of its tools and no word on where shared battles are found. Whether it leads to wider mod tools is a separate question, covered on Mods and Modding.

Blood Ravens Story Prologue is a story expansion about a new strike force heading to Aurelia. Aftermath deepens the campaign and adds an entirely new faction, which KING Art has not named. Both are sold separately and included in the Commander Edition; their solo prices are not published. See Editions and Price. The clip ends on the Commander Edition's art listing both; it shows the old Sep 17 date.

After the first year

Nothing past the Year One plan has been announced. KING Art says only that it is committed to supporting the game long-term.
