Closed Beta and Playtests

Dawn of War 4's closed beta ran Oct 21 to 26, 2026, after two closed alphas in Nov and Dec 2025, and it is over. No open beta or demo has been announced as of Oct 31, 2026, so the next way to play is the launch, Nov 30 with the Commander Edition or Dec 3, 2026.

Dawn of War 4's closed beta ran from Oct 21 to 26, 2026 and is over; no open beta or demo is announced on the game's official page as of Oct 31, 2026. It followed two small closed alphas, in Nov 2025 and on Dec 12 to 15, 2025. The next chance to play is the launch itself, Nov 30 for Commander Edition owners and Dec 3, 2026 for everyone else.

The closed beta

The beta let selected players try 1v1 Skirmish against AI throughout, and 1v1 Multiplayer in scheduled sessions only, with all four factions. Campaigns and Last Stand were not listed. KING Art says the feedback helps it find issues and evaluate balance. A survey was planned after the test, and there was no private beta Discord.

People who had tested earlier were on the list automatically. Others subscribed to the newsletter by Oct 18 and could get an application survey from Oct 12. Applications are closed, since the test has ended.

What the NDA allows

The two official statements differ slightly. Deep Silver's beta page says participants may discuss their experience but may not record, stream, screenshot or share gameplay. KING Art's Oct 23 post says sharing footage, screenshots or other confidential content is not permitted. Either way, no beta footage or results are public, and this viki reports nothing from the beta. Any claim about beta balance cannot be checked.

The closed alphas

The first Closed Alpha ran in Nov 2025 and the second on Dec 12 to 15, 2025, both small and on an early alpha build. Testers signed an NDA and agreed not to share, discuss, screenshot or record any of it, and a free Discord account was required. The second round took new testers from newsletter sign-ups by Dec 8, 2025. KING Art has published no results from either.

The press build is something else

Reports you can see today come from a separate build. Press and creators had three weeks with the Astra Militarum and Space Marine prologues, the full Ork and Adeptus Mechanicus campaigns and 1v1 Skirmish. What they said is on Previews and Reception. Earlier hands-on builds went to press too, including IGN in Jan 2026. The clip is IGN's Jan 2026 hands-on.

Is there a demo?

No demo is announced as of Oct 31, 2026. Neither the official page nor Steam's page offers one. If that changes, this page will say so. KING Art has also published Battlefield Reports on Steam, match videos that show play without a test.

Theysen said that the Aug 2026 delay was partly about getting more community feedback into the game, with thousands of playtesters. KING Art has given no breakdown of those tests. The clip is KING Art's Aug 2026 Release Date Update.

What is next

KING Art has announced no further test before launch. Commander Edition owners get a 3-Day Early Unlock from Nov 30, 2026; see Editions and Price and Release Date and Launch Time. No maker source has given a launch hour or pre-load date.
