Orks
The Orks in Dawn of War 4 win through Waaagh!, a meter filled by Ork numbers and kills, plus cheap units, cheap armed buildings and fast Veterancy. Their Commanders are Warboss Gorgutz and Beastboss Guzcutta, and their Stratagems are free.
The Orks in Dawn of War 4 are built on Waaagh!, cheap units and buildings, and quick expansion; KING Art's own advice when in doubt is to build more. They level up fast, spread armed bases across the map, and use Stratagems for free, per Deep Silver. Their two Commanders are the returning Warboss Gorgutz and the new Beastboss Guzcutta. This all comes from maker statements and pre-release builds, since the game is out on Dec 3, 2026. The clip is the official Game Overview Trailer.

Waaagh!
Waaagh! is a meter a bit like energy, filled by the number of Orks on the battlefield and the enemies killed. Trigger it and every fighting unit enters a berserker state and grows much stronger, which makes timing the key decision. The clip is KING Art's Sep 2026 Battlefield Report, a pre-release match.
Press describes more than that, from the pre-release builds. Press Start says combat, banners and Commander abilities build the meter, which unlocks more units and Stratagems, and at maximum basic Boyz become free. Big Boss Battle, from the Sep 9, 2026 Battlefield Report, describes bonuses at breakpoints and Stratagems that stay unlocked for the rest of the battle. So KING Art speaks of a trigger and press of thresholds; both may be true, and the thresholds are unpublished as of Oct 31, 2026. Waaagh! Banners raise it, so Deep Silver's site says to build plenty.
Bases everywhere
Almost any Ork infantry can build, and the structures are cheap and always armed, which makes base crawling natural and shortens the trip to the front. Orks can also build their own cover. In the preview build, Gretchin handle construction with a nearby Ork and can man a finished structure's weapons. Big Boss Battle adds that there is no large penalty for building away from base, scrap reinforces destroyed buildings, and scrap piles work as cover at chokepoints. More on Base Building. The clip is KING Art's Jul 2026 Battlefield Report.
The trade-off, per Deep Silver: those buildings are armed but easy to destroy, and individual units are not the strength, so opponents chip at bases and punish reckless advances.
Veterancy
Orks level up and gain Veterancy relatively quickly, unlock weapons and upgrades fast, and can add models to a unit early. IGN's January 2026 hands-on describes squads growing with experience into a horde. See Combat, Cover and Retreat for how Veterancy works across factions. The longer roster, with Wargamer's pre-launch list, is on the Units List.
Commanders: Gorgutz and Guzcutta
Warboss Gorgutz of the Bad Moons goes to war in Mega Armor: slow, strong in melee and at range, and challenging to play. His one named ability, I'm Out of Here, teleports him clear while his Gretchin leaves a pile of bombs behind. Brian Drummond returns as his voice. He led the Orks in earlier games, including Winter Assault and Dawn of War 3.
Beastboss Guzcutta is new, a Beast Snagga boss designed as an upstart rival for Gorgutz and voiced by Joshua Manning. He is tough on foot, and later in the campaign unlocks a rideable Squigosaur that makes him faster and fights beside him. The Year One Roadmap adds him to Last Stand and Crusade Mode near Summer 2027, free. The clip is IGN's Jan 2026 hands-on.
IGN says Gorgutz favors war machines and firepower, Guzcutta tamed beasts, and both eventually get the same units. The Ork Campaign makes you back one against the other.
Stratagems
Deep Silver's site says to use Stratagems whenever you can, because for Orks they are free. Official names are not published; Big Boss Battle describes flinging an asteroid at the planet and a horde of bomb-laden squigs in the Sep 9, 2026 report. See Stratagems.

Dawn of War 3Dawn of War 3 came out on Apr 27, 2017. Critics gave it a respectable 77, but its mix of real-time strategy and MOBA ideas lost players, Relic stopped major content within a year, and Dawn of War 4 returned to the first game as its model.
